At the University of Liberia, students recently got the opportunity to engage with one of Liberia’s most passionate entrepreneurs — Mr. Pius Kumeh Sr., the CEO of Emnetus Waste Management & Housekeeping Services Inc.
In a powerful interactive session, Mr. Kumeh shared the humble beginnings of Emnetus, his challenges navigating the sanitation industry, and how a clear vision and consistency helped him build a successful company that now provides essential services to communities across Liberia.
He encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship, especially in areas that are often overlooked — like waste management and environmental services. “The sanitation sector is full of opportunities,” he told the crowd. “When you solve real problems, you build real value.”
Students walked away inspired, with many asking how they could start similar ventures or get involved with Emnetus. For Mr. Kumeh, the session was more than a talk — it was a call to action for the youth to lead Liberia’s next wave of innovation.
